"Being downrange places the Chaplain in a significant position of ministering to the Troops. Many are in need of encouragement and comfort, and something as simple as a small gift from someone back home can mean everything! While I was deployed, I logged over 60,000 flight miles, visiting the Troops in Forward Operating Bases. I always took as many personal items as well as spiritually comforting gifts as possible, all sent from good folks back home. When they saw their Chaplain coming, they knew I would not be empty-handed."
